Graduate Engineer - Cost Reduction Engineer

We are currently offering a fantastic opportunity for an Engineering graduate to join our busy Engineering team. This role involves all aspects of identifying cost reductions from the renegotiation of current supply chain to new suppliers and the identification of waste within any given process. The focus will be on (but not explicitly) mechanical products. You would also be responsible for the procurement of samples for evaluation, and ultimate approval, working with the Quality and Purchasing teams accordingly. Working closely with Operations, Quality & Engineering to drive end savings result, you will learn to understand the commercial impacts of the suggested changes, gaining invaluable experience. Each project will be structured to maximise the benefit to the business. The role will also involve maintaining records of the saving and reporting the progress on each of them monthly, based on individual commodity projects being worked on.

We are looking for Graduates with a minimum 2:1 BEng or BSc in an Engineering related discipline or equivalent, ideally including a module covering Quality. You should have excellent communication skills to enable you to forge solid working relationships. Good organisation and IT skills are a pre-requisite as is the ability to work effectively under pressure and to meet deadlines. You will be a confident, self-motivated team player.

CNC Setter/Operator

We are recruiting a Setter/Operator for CMZ machines to produce parts correct to drawing. The role requires changing from machine to machine at infrequent intervals.

Candidates must have the following skills:

· Must have experience in using CMZ machines

· Ability to read and understand engineering drawings

· Ability to read & understand ISO and conversational machine programs

· To be able to foresee potential problems before they arise

· Must have experience in machining chambers and fabricated items

· Understands requirements of On Time Delivery both internally and externally

· Experienced in manual turning

· Experienced in CNC turning

· Basic training of a craft apprenticeship and 5 years minimum experience of actual machining

Fitter/Fabricator

The role involves fabrication of vacuum chambers, components and sub-assemblies as required in line with planned manufacturing operations to defined quality standards and timescales. Complete projects in accordance with planned schedules aligning fabrication and welding workload with machine shop operations. Quality Control evaluations. Set up and running of leak checking operations using mass spectrometry equipment, (helium leak detectors) on all chamber vessels.

Candidates must have the following skills and experience:

· Able to read specified drawings

· Established skillset in metal fabrication including the use of precision measuring equipment

· Experience in TIG welding would be an advantage

Manual Machinist

Operating manual milling machines to produce high quality components to tight tolerances for use in UHV precision assemblies. Ability to read technical drawings to set and operate manual milling machines with Proto Track type controls and measure critical features using a range of metrology equipment.
