Current Opportunities

Development Engineer

Providing manufacturing engineering support for the design and development team

• Ensure up to date drawings are available in manufacturing

• Root cause engineering problems and seek to eliminate

• Provide engineering support for quotations and technical enquiries

• Maintain project management processes and deliver development projects on budget and time

• Perform feasibility study on select NPI’s

• Check detail drawings to BS 8888 (308)

• Create BOM’s and planning sheets for new products & systems.

• Carry out FMEA

• Keep up to date with technical innovation in the UHV & manufacturing areas

• Understand competitive position and perform reverse engineering and bench marking of competitive products

• Provide timely production engineering support for custom orders to agreed dead lines

• Provide technical support to other team members and help them to check their work

Candidates must have the following skills and experience:

• Design for Manufacture and Assembly (DFMA)

• Root cause analysis

• Production Engineering of components and assemblies

• Microsoft Office products

• Project costing & quotation

It would be great if you had:

• 3 years in similar role

• Experience of Microsoft Dynamics

• A degree in Mechanical Engineering or a HNC/D in Mechanical and Production Engineering

TIG Welder/Fabricator

The role involves fabrication of vacuum chambers, components and sub-assemblies as required in line with planned manufacturing operations to defined quality standards and timescales. Complete projects in accordance with planned schedules aligning fabrication and welding workload with machine shop operations. Quality Control evaluations. Set up and running of leak checking operations using mass spectrometry equipment, (helium leak detectors) on all chamber vessels.

Candidates must have the following skills and experience:

• Able to read specified drawings

• Established skillset in metal fabrication including the use of precision measuring equipment

• Experience in TIG welding

Manual Machinist

Operating manual milling machines to produce high quality components to tight tolerances for use in UHV precision assemblies. Ability to read technical drawings to set and operate manual milling machines with Proto Track type controls and measure critical features using a range of metrology equipment.

• A proven track record of understanding how to use machines and problems associated with machining different shapes and sizes of components

• Ability to read engineering drawings and operate manual machines.

• Must understand requirements of On Time Delivery both internally and externally

• Have an understanding of how parts/material will react after and during machining to be able to foresee potential problems before they arise.

12 month Fixed Term Contract - Customer Service & Sales Administrator

We are now recruiting for an experienced Customer Service & Sales Administrator who has worked within a busy sales environment who has excellent customer service skills. It includes all sales processes including order and quotation management, enquiries, complaints and marketing related activities.

About the role:

This role represents the communication interface between the customer, agents and distributors and the company.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Quotations, receipt of RFQ and tender platform and timeline management

• Coordinate with technical sales, engineering and manufacturing

• Follow up quotations with customers/distributors

• Order entry into ERP system (MS AX) and changes driven by manufacturing or the customers

• To initiate regular and systematic telephone follow up of customers and maintain records using the CRM system

• Conduct Post Sale Follow Up

• General Office Admin

• Member and back-up in the Sales Administration/Marketing Team

Essential Skills & Experience:

• You must be able to develop excellent working relationships through both e-mail and phone communication

• Experience with Sales Administration

• Ability to build excellent rapport with customer to ensure customer satisfaction

• Excellent communication skills and telephone technique

• Excellent organisational skills & ability to multi-task & prioritise

• Diligent with regards to quality and timely fulfilment

Desirable Skills & Experience:

• At least 2 years’ experience in a busy product based sales environment

• Experience working in various cultures

• Competent in Microsoft Programmes (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook)

• Experience working with a CRM system

• An additional language would be advantageous
